ReLISA Research Interventions

Research commissioned by ReLISA generates critical scientific evidence needed to restore South Africa’s grasslands, savannas and thickets at scale. Working with leading universities and research institutions, these studies address critical knowledge gaps around ecosystem restoration, carbon sequestration, biodiversity, water security and sustainable land management. By strengthening the evidence-base for restoration interventions and developing practical tools, methodologies and investment-ready insights, the research supports better decision-making by land managers, policymakers and investors. Ultimately, it helps build the economic case for restoration by demonstrating how healthy ecosystems can deliver measurable environmental, social and financial returns.
